Job Purpose
This role supports IOM Türkiye's implementation of field-level data collection activities under the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), in close coordination with the Presidency of Migration Management. The primary aim is to generate reliable, timely, and actionable data to inform evidence-based decision-making and improve program effectiveness. The Field Team Leader will ensure effective field implementation, coordination, and quality assurance of these data collection efforts, reporting to IOM and operating under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate and Field Coordinator.
Responsibilities
The Field Team Leader will coordinate and oversee daily activities of field data collectors, ensuring adherence to protocols and timelines. This includes assigning areas, monitoring progress, and conducting quantitative and qualitative interviews with host and migrant communities ethically and sensitively. The role involves supervising data collection quality, accuracy, and integrity, providing continuous feedback and technical guidance to collectors. Joint field visits with Project Associates will support implementation and alignment with objectives. The incumbent will utilize mobile data collection tools, submit regular progress updates, and manage operational challenges. Effective communication and coordination with community members, local authorities, and stakeholders are crucial for facilitating field access and smooth implementation. Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor are also part of the role.
Work Experience
A minimum of one month of professional experience is required. Previous experience in field data collection, surveys, or assessments is desired. Experience working with migrants, refugees, or displaced populations is a strong advantage. Familiarity with digital data collection tools like KoboToolbox or ODK is also desirable.
