Communication Associate
Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Communication Associate will support the UNAIDS Country Office in India by planning and implementing communication and outreach activities to enhance programme visibility, stakeholder engagement, and community participation. The role focuses on developing diverse content, managing digital platforms, and producing multimedia materials, with a specific emphasis on engaging young people and Young Key Populations (YKP). This position will also contribute to youth engagement, advocacy, and inclusion in decision-making processes, strengthening partnerships, coordinating events, documenting activities, and preparing reports to support programme delivery and visibility.
Responsibilities
The Communication Associate will support the design and implementation of communication strategies, developing engaging content such as articles, blogs, social media posts, and IEC materials to boost programme visibility and impact, especially for young audiences and YKP. Responsibilities include creating short-form multimedia content (videos, reels, graphics) and managing social media platforms to enhance outreach and engagement. The role involves facilitating the meaningful engagement of young people and YKP through advocacy and inclusion in policy dialogue and decision-making. Building and strengthening partnerships with youth networks and organizations is key. Additionally, the associate will support event planning and coordination, document activities, and contribute to reports and communication outputs for stakeholders.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required in communications, outreach, and social media management. Experience with various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube), content creation tools (Canva, InShot, Adobe Premiere Pro), and an understanding of youth issues are essential. Proficiency in MS Office and strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills are also necessary.
