Job Purpose
This UN Volunteer Associate position in the RCO, San José, Costa Rica, supports the identification of new collaboration opportunities and the development and implementation of partnership strategies. The role is vital for diversifying funding sources and strengthening partnerships with government, private sector, civil society, and international bodies. The incumbent will contribute to sustainable resource mobilization efforts, aligning with the UN's development agenda in Costa Rica, particularly in the context of an evolving development landscape and the need for innovative financing solutions.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer Associate will support the Partnerships and Finance for Development Officer by mapping and engaging potential partners, focusing on youth initiatives. Key tasks include assisting in preparing concept notes, partnership briefs, and funding proposals, and maintaining a database of partners and opportunities. The role involves contributing to the Multi-Year Funding Framework for the UNSDCF, supporting the organization of meetings and outreach activities, and contributing to communication and advocacy for youth engagement and volunteerism. Additionally, the volunteer will monitor and report on partnership initiatives and resource mobilization efforts, documenting results and lessons learned. A work plan will be developed in the first month.
Work Experience
Requires 1 month of relevant experience. Demonstrated interest or experience (up to three years) in Development Finance and International Cooperation is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI tools, along with collaborative work skills, is also required.
