Job Purpose
This assignment supports UNODC Nepal's initiative to create Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for World Drug Day. The goal is to design high-quality, engaging, and accessible materials that effectively communicate key messages on drug prevention, treatment, and community support. These materials will target diverse audiences, including youth, parents, drug users, community members, and local authorities, aiming to raise awareness, promote behavior change, and support advocacy efforts at national and local levels.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the creation of IEC materials for UNODC's World Drug Day campaign. Responsibilities include designing up to five visually engaging posters and IEC materials, ensuring they are youth-friendly, culturally sensitive, gender-responsive, and inclusive. The volunteer must integrate UNODC and MOHA logos, adhere to branding guidelines, and maintain consistency in design elements. Feedback incorporation and delivery of final outputs in print-ready and digital formats are required. For video editing, the volunteer will adapt one existing video clip (under one minute), updating visual elements, text, subtitles, graphics, and transitions as needed. The final video must be visually engaging, aligned with campaign messaging and branding, and incorporate feedback before final delivery.
Work Experience
Proven experience in graphic design, video editing, visual communication, or multimedia development is required. A strong portfolio showcasing relevant work is essential. Experience with UN agencies, INGOs, or government partners is considered an advantage. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva is necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Canva. Strong visual communication skills for awareness campaigns. Ability to create youth-friendly, culturally sensitive, and inclusive materials. Skill in incorporating feedback and meeting deadlines. Fluency in English is desirable.
