Organizational Context

Job Purpose

This role supports UNCDF's Strategic Funds Unit (SFU) in developing and overseeing trust funds that utilize blended finance approaches to mobilize capital for development impact. The Trust Funds Strategic Coordination Officer will assist in planning and coordinating engagement activities to advance partnership and resource mobilization objectives. This includes supporting events, managing stakeholder lists, drafting communications, and assisting with travel planning. The role also contributes to initiative development through research and drafting of concept notes and proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Furthermore, it supports resource mobilization coordination by assisting with donor outreach, proposal development, and tracking funding commitments, ultimately contributing to UNCDF's mission of catalyzing investment for SDG impact.

Responsibilities

The Trust Funds Strategic Coordination Officer will support the Strategic Engagement & Partnership Specialist in several key areas. Responsibilities include coordinating strategic engagement activities by assisting with the planning, logistics, and delivery of events, forums, and consultations, maintaining contact lists, and drafting correspondence and meeting notes. The role will also provide research and initiative development support, including conducting research on finance trends, drafting concept notes and proposals, and coordinating inputs from various partners. Additionally, the officer will support resource mobilization coordination by assisting with donor correspondence, developing funding proposals and pitch decks, tracking donor opportunities and commitments, and maintaining records of partner interactions. The position also involves integrating the UN Volunteers programme mandate, promoting volunteerism, and contributing to UNV publications and activities.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of professional international experience in communications, strategic engagement, or fundraising is required, with four or more years strongly preferred. Experience in planning and delivering multi-stakeholder events is also necessary. Prior experience with UN entities or international organizations is highly desirable. Proficiency in English is essential, with knowledge of another UN language being an advantage. Familiarity with fundraising processes and event management is considered an asset.
