Job Purpose
The Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication Officer will contribute to the effective management of UNDP projects in Timor-Leste, focusing on climate change and environment initiatives. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Resident Representative/Head of Climate Change and Environment Programme Unit, the role involves ensuring robust monitoring, accurate reporting of results and impact, and effective communication strategies. The officer will collaborate closely with Programme and Operations Teams, government partners, and other stakeholders to enhance project impact and support resource mobilization efforts, ensuring a harmonized approach to UNDP's development interventions.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication Officer will support project management and implementation by contributing to activity planning, ensuring timely delivery of inputs and deliverables, and assisting with procurement processes. The role involves applying UNDP project management procedures and risk management frameworks. Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project results, drafting progress reports, analyzing project outcomes, and preparing assessments. The officer will also support communication and knowledge management by developing and implementing communication plans, producing knowledge products, and facilitating outreach to stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves supporting strategic partnerships and resource mobilization through research, proposal development, and donor reporting, as well as coordinating with various teams and representing the project in relevant meetings.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required in project management, monitoring and reporting, communication, or technical advisory services within climate change, environment, natural resources management, or biodiversity. Experience with multi-stakeholder projects, producing monitoring and knowledge management outputs, and proposal development for vertical funds is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is expected.
