Organizational Context

The 21st Century African Youth Movement (AYM) is a nonprofit organization in Sierra Leone focused on creating employment and economic opportunities for African youth through various programs. As AYM expands its digital presence, including its website, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment efforts, it requires enhanced systems for measuring performance and understanding stakeholder engagement. Reliable data analytics and reporting are crucial for informed decision-making and organizational growth.

Job Purpose

This role supports AYM's mission by establishing and managing website analytics, conversion tracking, and performance reporting systems. The volunteer will help the organization measure, understand, and improve the effectiveness of its digital activities. By configuring tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, implementing conversion tracking, and developing insightful dashboards, the volunteer will provide data-driven insights. This will enable AYM to evaluate digital initiatives, optimize strategies, strengthen fundraising and volunteer recruitment, and ultimately increase support for programs that create employment and economic opportunities for African youth.

Responsibilities

Configure and optimize Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Implement conversion tracking for key website actions such as donations, volunteer registrations, and contact forms. Develop and maintain website performance dashboards to provide clear insights into user engagement and traffic. Monitor website traffic, analyze visitor behavior, and identify trends. Track the performance of fundraising and volunteer recruitment campaigns. Support campaign measurement and evaluation. Produce monthly analytics and performance reports, including conversion reports. Provide data-based recommendations for improving website and campaign effectiveness. Collaborate with digital growth, website, SEO, fundraising, and advertising teams. Document analytics setup and reporting procedures.

Work Experience

Experience using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager is required. Experience implementing conversion tracking and creating dashboards and performance reports is essential. Demonstrated ability to analyze website traffic and user behavior data, along with knowledge of website performance metrics and reporting, is necessary. Experience with digital marketing or website analytics is expected. Experience with nonprofit organizations, measuring fundraising performance, or volunteer recruitment campaigns is preferred.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Proficiency in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager is essential. Experience with conversion tracking and dashboard development is necessary. Ability to analyze website traffic and user behavior data, and knowledge of website performance metrics and reporting are key. Effective communication skills for presenting findings and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines are important. Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
