Job Purpose
This role supports the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Caribbean's "CONVERSATIONS on Migration in the Caribbean" initiative by promoting three upcoming webinars. The purpose is to shape the narrative around migration in the region, address its challenges, and highlight its role in development. The volunteer will contribute to deepening public understanding of how managed migration supports Caribbean societies and economies, and benefits migrants and host communities. This involves developing promotional materials and social media content to effectively communicate the dynamics of regional migration policy and freedom of movement considerations for Caribbean states.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the communications officer in developing presentation materials and social media products for three webinars scheduled from March to June. Key duties include collaborating with the communications team to define the campaign's target audience, partners, and goals. The volunteer will assist in developing a promotion implementation plan and design engaging social media products. They will utilize provided materials to create required content and be available for coordination calls via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or WhatsApp. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen skills in communication, social media, and networking with IOM staff and other UNVs.
Work Experience
Previous experience in social media outreach and graphic design is required, along with excellent communication skills. A good understanding of online marketing tools and channels is also necessary. Experience in designing outreach or marketing tools is highly desired.
