UNDP aims to foster trust in institutions, promote peace and resilience, and drive inclusive growth. The agency supports countries in developing policies, leadership, partnerships, and institutional capacities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on sustainable development, democratic governance, peacebuilding, and climate/disaster resilience.
Job Purpose
The UNDP Country Office in Côte d’Ivoire seeks a dedicated National UN Volunteer for Partnerships and Resource Mobilization to strengthen its team. This role is crucial for accelerating partnership and communication efforts with development actors, including institutions, civil society, and the private sector. The objective is to ensure the integrated implementation of development programs and interventions outlined in the CPD, maximizing impact and addressing national needs. Additionally, the volunteer will enhance communication strategies to increase the visibility of interventions supported by UNDP and its partners, contributing to the overall success of the country's development agenda and fostering a better life for its people.
Responsibilities
The National UN Volunteer will coordinate partnership monitoring and funding opportunities at the Country Office level, ensuring a consolidated view of UNDP's engagements. The volunteer will develop and maintain a database of current and potential partners and conduct continuous strategic monitoring of partner priorities and funding instruments. Key duties involve developing concept notes, proposals, and project documents to mobilize resources for the country program. Building and maintaining strategic relationships with donors and technical/financial partners is essential, along with tracking meetings and commitments. The role also includes identifying and coordinating funding opportunities, preparing expressions of interest and project proposals, and contributing to the country office's communication strategy by highlighting partnerships and joint results. This involves preparing communication materials, producing success stories, and supporting digital platforms. Finally, the volunteer will assist in preparing and reviewing programmatic and financial reports, ensuring quality and adherence to reporting requirements, and updating internal databases with implementation results.
Work Experience
Requires 3 years of professional experience in development cooperation, sustainable development, or international cooperation, preferably in Africa and/or Côte d’Ivoire. Experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, or project proposal support is essential. Familiarity with Côte d’Ivoire's institutional, public, and private sectors, particularly public-private partnership mechanisms, is beneficial. Knowledge of UNDP or UN System policies and practices is an asset. Skills
Key competencies include integrity, professionalism, accountability, and continuous learning. The role requires strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Teamwork and respect for diversity are crucial for effective collaboration in a multicultural environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are necessary for reporting, presentations, and stakeholder engagement. Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work in challenging environments are also important. Demonstrated adherence to UN volunteer principles and core values, along with expertise in communication, development programs, and business management, are expected.
