Organizational Context
The World Health Organization (WHO) aims to promote health, ensure safety, and serve vulnerable populations with measurable impact. Its strategic priorities focus on healthy lives and well-being for all, achieving universal health coverage, addressing health emergencies, and promoting healthier populations. In Chad, WHO supports national health initiatives, working to increase the visibility of its efforts and health issues among partners, the public, and the media.
Job Purpose
This role supports WHO Chad's digital campaign, "Give Blood. Save Lives," for World Blood Donor Day 2026. The campaign aims to address the critical shortage of voluntary blood donors in Chad, where demand is high due to obstetric emergencies, severe anemia, accidents, and chronic diseases. The online volunteers will significantly expand the campaign's reach, engage youth, and foster collective action. Their contribution is vital for raising awareness, recruiting new donors, promoting regular donations, and mobilizing communities and partners to ensure a sufficient and safe blood supply.
Responsibilities
Online volunteers will actively disseminate awareness messages on the importance and impact of blood donation. They will promote the campaign across various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube) and share key visuals, videos, testimonials, and infographics. Volunteers will encourage individual commitments to donate blood and become regular donors, mobilizing support around the official hashtag #DonnezDuSangSauvezDesVies. They will raise awareness about blood needs in emergencies and promote collection sites and campaign activities. Responsibilities include participating in a virtual orientation, providing real-time updates on activities, and producing creative, engaging content tailored to different audiences. A final report summarizing contributions is required. Volunteers will receive a comprehensive communication kit.
Work Experience
Required experience includes a strong command of social media and digital tools. Desirable experience includes digital communication and content creation, a background in public health or blood donation promotion, the ability to work autonomously remotely, and experience in awareness-raising or community mobilization.
Skills
Key skills include proficiency in social media and digital tools, digital communication, content creation, and the ability to engage diverse audiences. An interest in public health and blood donation promotion is essential. The capacity for autonomous remote work is also required. Fluency in French is necessary for effective communication.
