The M&E Associate will be based in the UNFPA Country Office in Port Sudan, contributing to robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems that align with national frameworks and humanitarian response plans.
Job Purpose
The M&E Associate will support the UNFPA Country Office in Port Sudan, working closely with the M&E Specialist and programme teams. The role is crucial for strengthening monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities, ensuring UNFPA's programming is evidence-based and effectively integrated into national strategies and humanitarian efforts. The position directly contributes to UNFPA's transformative goals of ending preventable maternal deaths, unmet needs for family planning, and gender-based violence and harmful practices, by enhancing the office's information and learning systems.
Responsibilities
The M&E Associate will assist in tracking project metrics and applying Results-Based Management (RBM) principles for data entry and reporting, ensuring programme delivery aligns with UNFPA's strategic plan, donor requirements, and national frameworks. Responsibilities include supporting the digitalization of knowledge management, organizing and disseminating knowledge products, best practices, and lessons learned. The role involves strengthening the capacity of staff and implementing partners in MEAL concepts, supporting regular reporting from partners, and preparing/updating templates and trackers for mission findings and recommendations. Additionally, the Associate will help maintain and update M&E master files, including service locations, monitoring activities, data reporting mechanisms, and work plans.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, specifically in implementing Results-Based Management (RBM) principles and tracking programme delivery metrics. Experience with digital knowledge management, data reporting, and maintaining data storage systems is beneficial. Experience supporting capacity-building initiatives, developing/maintaining M&E frameworks in humanitarian or development settings, and coordinating monitoring visits is also valuable. Proficiency in spreadsheets and excellent oral/written communication skills are essential. Familiarity with data cleaning and visualization is desirable.
