Organizational Context

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is organizing the first United Nations Peacebuilding Week from June 22-26, 2026. This initiative aims to promote peace, social cohesion, dialogue, and coexistence through awareness-raising, community mobilization, and communication activities across Chad. The goal is to ensure broad dissemination of event information and enhance participation from communities and partners.

Job Purpose

As a Communication Relay for the UN Peacebuilding Week campaign in Chad, your role is crucial in amplifying event visibility and engagement. You will support the organizing team in executing proximity and digital communication actions before, during, and after the event. Your contribution will be vital in disseminating information about the week's activities, mobilizing participants, and highlighting peacebuilding initiatives to the general public and partners, thereby fostering a wider understanding and support for peace and social cohesion efforts across the country.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include raising awareness and mobilizing communities, organizations, and participants for the planned activities. You will be responsible for disseminating official messages, programs, and practical information through social media, local media channels, and direct community outreach. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing the event's visibility among the general public and stakeholders. This involves leveraging strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in social media and digital communication tools, and the ability to mobilize and sensitize communities effectively. You should also demonstrate organizational skills, adherence to instructions, and the capacity to produce simple content like photos, videos, messages, and reports.
