Job Purpose

The UN Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO) in the UAE seeks a video editing volunteer to support the "Pathways to UN Water 2026: A UN in UAE Knowledge Series." This series comprises eight short videos designed to enhance awareness and understanding of the upcoming UN Water Conference among global stakeholders. The volunteer will be instrumental in transforming raw video footage, including speaker contributions and presentations, into polished, engaging content. This includes creating social media teasers, ensuring brand consistency, and preparing final videos for publication on the UN in UAE YouTube channel, thereby contributing significantly to the outreach and educational goals of the RCO.

Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will edit raw video contributions for the "Pathways to UN Water 2026: A UN in UAE Knowledge Series," which includes eight short sessions covering the conference's official themes and an introductory episode. Responsibilities involve assembling footage from talking-head recordings and slide presentations into publication-ready videos. The volunteer will also develop or apply branded intro/outro sequences, incorporate motion graphics and on-screen text, ensure appropriate audio levels and background music, and produce accurate subtitles for accessibility. Additionally, the role requires creating short social media teaser clips (30-60 seconds) from each episode, coordinating review cycles with the RCO communications focal point, and preparing final video files for the UN in UAE YouTube channel.

Work Experience

Demonstrated experience in video editing, particularly for digital/social media or knowledge-sharing purposes, is required. Experience working with mixed-format footage (webcam recordings and slide presentations) and the ability to apply or develop branded visual templates are also essential. Attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple short productions simultaneously are important.
