Organizational Context
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the UN's sexual and reproductive health agency, dedicated to a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The TICTACADOS mobile application, currently under development, aims to provide digitized reproductive health services. This application handles sensitive data, making a robust data protection framework essential.
Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will contribute to establishing a comprehensive data protection and confidentiality framework for the TICTACADOS mobile application. This role is crucial for ensuring the security of sensitive data belonging to adolescent and young users. The volunteer will be responsible for defining data protection principles, identifying data categories and sensitivity levels, and developing informed digital consent rules. Additionally, the volunteer will propose anonymization/pseudonymization mechanisms, define security standards for encryption, storage, and access, outline user rights (access, deletion, withdrawal), and establish a framework for managing security incidents.
Responsibilities
The Volunteer will play a key role in implementing the data protection and confidentiality framework for the TICTACADOS application, ensuring the security of sensitive data for adolescent and young users. Key responsibilities include defining personal data protection principles, identifying data categories and their sensitivity levels, and developing rules for informed digital consent. The volunteer will also propose anonymization and pseudonymization mechanisms, define security standards for data encryption, storage, and access control, and elaborate on user rights concerning data access, deletion, and withdrawal. Furthermore, the role involves establishing a framework for managing security incidents to safeguard user information.
Work Experience
Required experience includes knowledge of digital law, cybersecurity, and computer science, or equivalent qualifications. Practical experience in personal data protection is essential. Familiarity with international standards (UN, GDPR, etc.) and prior experience with digital projects or digital health initiatives are also required.
