Organizational Context

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the UN's sexual and reproductive health agency, dedicated to a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The TICTACADOS mobile application is a digital platform for reproductive health services currently under development. It facilitates interactions among young users, health providers, teleoperators, and community distributors, necessitating a robust framework for preventing, reporting, and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse risks.

Job Purpose

The UNV will contribute to the development of the TICTACADOS mobile application by establishing a comprehensive framework for the Prevention, Eradication, and Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PEAS). This involves defining applicable standards, creating a code of conduct for all stakeholders, and developing mechanisms to prevent exploitation and abuse. The role includes setting up a confidential reporting system, defining incident management procedures, and integrating specific child protection measures. The UNV will also propose a training framework for actors involved in the project, ensuring a safe and ethical environment for all users and participants.

Responsibilities

The UNV will be responsible for defining the PEAS standards applicable to the TICTACADOS project. This includes developing a code of conduct for all involved actors and creating mechanisms for the prevention of exploitation and abuse risks. The volunteer will establish a confidential reporting system and define procedures for managing PEAS incidents. Additionally, the role involves integrating specific measures for the protection of minors and proposing a training framework for all project stakeholders on PEAS principles and procedures. The aim is to ensure a safe and ethical digital health service environment.

Work Experience

Required experience includes a background in child protection, human rights, or social sciences. Candidates must have experience in developing safeguarding or PEAS documents within UN or NGO systems. A strong understanding of UN standards for protection against sexual exploitation and abuse is crucial. Experience with youth programs or public health initiatives is desirable.

Skills

Proficiency in developing safeguarding and PEAS frameworks. Knowledge of UN standards on protection against sexual exploitation and abuse. Experience in child protection, human rights, or social sciences. Ability to develop codes of conduct and reporting mechanisms. Experience in youth programs or public health is an asset. Fluency in French is desirable.
