Organizational Context
The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD), established in 2011, is a UNDP Global Policy Centre in Türkiye. It partners with the private sector and foundations to advance development goals through research, advocacy, and partnership brokering. The Center focuses on inclusive business, skills development, impact investing, and crisis response, hosting several global initiatives and contributing to UNDP's worldwide efforts in private sector engagement.
Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP IICPSD SDG AI Lab, a joint initiative focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and GIS for sustainable development. The volunteer will contribute to research, development, and advisory services, enhancing the capacities of UNDP and its partners in digital transformation. The assignment aims to strengthen the Lab's knowledge production and communication efforts, translating complex digital innovation concepts into accessible formats for diverse audiences and supporting strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will support the SDG AI Lab's knowledge production and communication. Key duties include contributing to the drafting and refinement of concept notes, proposals, and briefing materials, involving background research and synthesis of findings. The role also involves developing content for internal and external communications, such as newsletters, social media, and reports, making complex topics understandable for various audiences. The volunteer will assist in translating strategic priorities into clear, compelling documents and knowledge-sharing materials.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in communications, content development, or research support is required. Prior experience within innovation ecosystems or UN/NGO environments is considered an advantage.
Skills
Essential skills include the ability to draft clear concept notes and programme documents, strong written communication for diverse audiences, and experience in background research and synthesizing information. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is crucial. Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills are needed, along with meticulous attention to detail and a genuine interest in sustainable development and digital innovation.
