Job Purpose

This online volunteer assignment involves proofreading and editing a machine-translated Russian version of the "International Protection Considerations for Syrians" document, which is approximately 90 pages long and originally in English. The primary goal is to ensure the Russian version is accurate, consistent, and aligns with international protection terminology and UNHCR standards. Special attention will be given to correcting linguistic inaccuracies, enhancing readability, and ensuring precise legal and protection-related terminology. The final output will be a polished Russian-language document suitable for professional and institutional use, contributing to the dissemination of crucial protection information.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to meticulously proofread and edit a machine-translated Russian version of the "International Protection Considerations for Syrians" document. This includes comparing the source English text with the target Russian text to ensure accuracy, consistency, and preservation of meaning. Work Experience

Familiarity with UN terminology and protection-related language is considered an asset.

Skills

Strong command of both English and Russian (native level for Russian, working knowledge for English) is essential.
