UNHCR Lebanon supports both Lebanese communities and refugees, coordinating protection responses with government, UN agencies, and partners. The office regularly produces public information and emergency communication materials to raise awareness and inform diverse audiences about humanitarian needs and response efforts. This role supports these efforts by creating compelling multimedia content for digital platforms, aiming to increase public understanding of refugee issues.

Job Purpose

This assignment seeks Online Volunteers to assist UNHCR Lebanon in producing and editing short videos and multimedia content for emergency public information and awareness initiatives. The volunteers will transform raw footage, interviews, and photographs into compelling video products that communicate humanitarian needs, response efforts, and key public information messages. The role directly contributes to increasing public understanding of refugee issues and supporting humanitarian communication efforts that reach thousands of people across digital platforms, enhancing awareness of refugee concerns.

Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will support the UNHCR Lebanon communication team in producing and editing short videos and multimedia content for emergency public information and awareness initiatives. Key tasks include editing videos for social media and digital platforms, producing subtitles, transitions, and basic motion graphics, and supporting the development of emergency communication videos and awareness materials. The volunteer will adapt content into different formats for various communication channels, ensuring outputs meet agreed communication objectives and timelines. Expected deliverables include two edited video products, one short-form social media content piece, and updates to three existing multimedia products.

Work Experience

Required experience includes video editing and multimedia production. Proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve is necessary. Creativity, storytelling skills, the ability to work independently, and meet deadlines are also essential.
