Organizational Context
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, dedicated to saving lives in emergencies and providing food assistance to build a path towards peace, stability, and prosperity. In Peru, WFP's Country Strategic Plan aims to ensure refugees, displaced persons, and vulnerable populations can meet their basic food and nutrition needs during crises. This involves complementing the government's social protection strategy through cash transfers and vulnerability analysis.
Job Purpose
This role supports WFP Peru's strategic objective to provide food assistance and cash transfers to vulnerable Venezuelan refugees, migrants, and host communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic impacts. The assignment focuses on alleviating severe food insecurity and saving lives by conducting monitoring calls. Volunteers will gather data, provide information on nutrition and social protection, and promote better practices. The goal is to ensure effective use of cash transfers and government social services, contributing to evidence generation and project monitoring.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will conduct "calls of hope" to refugee and migrant families and host communities. These calls will focus on data collection related to ongoing project themes. Volunteers will be responsible for registering all calls made on the MoDa platform. Prior to the assignment, volunteers will receive training on data collection methods to ensure effective communication and accurate data gathering. Upon completion, volunteers will receive feedback and a certificate of appreciation.
Work Experience
Required experience includes having a computer or laptop, a phone line for calls within Peru or via WhatsApp, and internet connectivity. Experience in monitoring and applying data collection instruments is also required.
Skills
Proficiency in Spanish (native level) is mandatory. The role requires strong communication skills for conducting calls, data collection abilities, and familiarity with monitoring and reporting tasks. Volunteers should be able to use a computer and have reliable internet access.
