Programme and Supply Chain Coordinator

NUNV-S
Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sudan supports the country's transition, peacebuilding, stabilization, climate resilience, and economic improvement. As the main development integrator, UNDP focuses on socioeconomic transformation, governance, peacebuilding, and green initiatives. In the context of ongoing conflict, UNDP serves as the interim Principal Recipient for Global Fund grants (HIV, TB, C19RM) and supports malaria programs, establishing a field presence in Darfur to strengthen oversight.
Job Purpose
The Programme and Supply Chain Coordinator will be based in El-Geneina, West Darfur, to provide regional oversight for TB, HIV, and malaria programs across all Darfur states. This role is crucial for strengthening oversight in a region significantly impacted by conflict, which has disrupted health systems and created hard-to-reach areas. The coordinator will ensure effective coordination, implementation, monitoring, and delivery of essential health programs and commodities, contributing to the continuity of vital health services amidst insecurity and infrastructure challenges.
Responsibilities
The Programme and Supply Chain Coordinator will oversee TB, HIV, and malaria programs across Darfur states, ensuring coordination, planning, and alignment with national strategies. This includes participating in coordination platforms, mapping service delivery points, and conducting field visits to monitor implementation and service quality. The role involves ensuring effective program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, including data quality assurance and training for health staff. Additionally, the coordinator will lead end-to-end supply chain management for essential commodities, coordinating logistics, last-mile distribution, and storage. Responsibilities also include monitoring supply chain performance, identifying risks, and collaborating with national bodies like NMSF and FMoH to strengthen systems and ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines and supplies.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience is required in program management, supply chain management, operations, or monitoring and evaluation. Experience working in conflict-affected areas, with diverse stakeholders (government, NGOs, UN), and in the public health sector is highly desirable. Knowledge of the Darfur region and its context is also beneficial.
Skills
Key competencies include achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, and strong engagement and partnership skills. The role requires the ability to enable diversity and inclusion. Specific expertise areas include crisis and emergency response, health programs, and logistics and inventory management. Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word are essential.
