The UNV Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific supports UN system activities and volunteerism as civic engagement. UNV India specifically seeks Online Volunteers to highlight the experiences and contributions of UN Volunteers through compelling web stories, fostering the value of volunteerism in advancing Sustainable Development Goals.

Job Purpose

UNV India is seeking Online Volunteers to develop engaging web stories that showcase the experiences and contributions of UN Volunteers in India. These stories will be published on the UNV website. Volunteers will receive background information and guidance from UNV colleagues. The assignment aims to promote the value of volunteerism and its critical role in strengthening communities, supporting public services, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is a remote, task-based assignment focused on creating compelling narratives.

Responsibilities

Online Volunteers will create and curate engaging web content, specifically short articles, featuring UN Volunteers for the UNV website. This involves applying storytelling techniques and integrating provided multimedia elements. Key tasks include conducting interviews with UN Volunteers in Child Protection, Climate Change, and the Adi Yuva Fellowship Programme to gather information. Volunteers will draft three web stories, adhering to UNV's web writing guidelines, and incorporate visual content. Drafts will undergo review by UNV colleagues, who will provide feedback to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency in the final outputs.

Work Experience

Candidates require excellent writing skills and a strong command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. Demonstrated ability to create compelling narratives that capture reader attention is essential. A willingness to adapt writing style to UNV guidelines and a genuine enthusiasm for storytelling are also required.
