Job Purpose
The UNV Resource Mobilization Specialist will support the UNICEF Côte d’Ivoire Country Office by strengthening donor relations, designing and implementing fundraising strategies, and overseeing donor proposals and grant management. This role is crucial for securing funding to support the Country Programme Document (CPD) for 2026-2030. The specialist will act as a focal point for public donors, assist program colleagues in the funding cycle, and contribute to developing a "customer relationship management" culture to ensure donor satisfaction and program success. The aim is to enhance visibility, recognition, and advocacy for fundraising purposes.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer Resource Mobilization Specialist will support the UNICEF Côte d’Ivoire Country Office by: Implementing resource mobilization strategies and action plans for the 2026-2030 Country Programme Document, guiding program sections on opportunities, particularly with public donors, and preparing regular reports for management. Serving as a focal point for communication with public donors and liaising with UNICEF colleagues on fundraising matters. Assisting program colleagues with key steps in the funding cycle, including contract development, grant creation, amendments, and reporting. Strengthening existing donor relationships and expanding the network of new prospects through donor analysis, meetings, monitoring funding opportunities, and follow-up. Overseeing and contributing to donor proposal development, gathering insights, briefing colleagues, and coordinating contributions for timely and quality submissions. Fostering a "customer relationship management" culture focused on donor satisfaction, supporting donor field visits, report development, and communication products. Collaborating with the communications team to enhance donor visibility, recognition, and advocacy through innovative approaches. Liaising with program sections and participating in strategic meetings to maintain knowledge of programs and funding gaps, and supporting management outreach to donors.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in partnerships, project management, or marketing at national or international levels. Experience in a developing country, particularly West Africa, or with UN/international organizations is an asset. Proficiency in oral and written communication, drafting, and reporting is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and computer literacy are required.
