Simultaneous Interpretation Spanish to English for a one day meeting

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's global development network, operating in nearly 170 countries. Its mission is to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, and build resilience to crises. This workshop is part of a project focused on preventing and responding to cybercrimes and gender-based violence, funded by the Republic of Korea. It aims to bridge experiences between the ROK and the Latin America and Caribbean region regarding technology-facilitated gender-based violence.

Job Purpose

This role will provide simultaneous interpretation between Spanish and English for a one-day workshop focused on addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). The workshop is part of a project aimed at enhancing police support for preventing and responding to cybercrimes and TFGBV. The interpretation will facilitate knowledge exchange and strategic partnership building between law enforcement agencies and stakeholders from the Republic of Korea and the Latin America and Caribbean region. The objective is to share expertise, investigative strategies, and preventative frameworks, fostering future operational and technical cooperation.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and engaging simultaneous interpretation between Spanish and English during a workshop focused on the ROK-LAC Dialogue on Addressing Technology Facilitated Gender Based Violence (TFGBV). This includes interpretation from Spanish to English and, if necessary, from English to Spanish. The interpretation will take place during a specific session on Wednesday, June 10th, from 14:30 to 17:30 Montevideo/Brasilia time. The role supports the project's objectives of knowledge exchange and strategic partnership building between the Republic of Korea and the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Work Experience

Required experience includes training or proven experience in simultaneous interpretation and translation specifically for online webinars. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for this role.
