Job Purpose
This role supports the implementation of UN Women's joint programmes in Gaza, specifically the "Sawasya III" and "Shaml" programmes, which aim to reinforce equal access to justice for all Palestinians and strengthen the protection and leadership of women and girls survivors of violence. The Project Analyst will contribute to the efficient and timely execution of project activities, monitor partner organizations, and facilitate collaboration among civil society partners. The position also supports UN Women's efforts to scale up rule of law and access to justice initiatives in Gaza, involving data collection, analysis, and facilitating discussions on women's access to justice and protection. Administrative and operational support for programme activities, including event organization and reporting, is also a key aspect of this assignment.
Responsibilities
The Project Analyst will support the implementation of the Sawasya III and Shaml joint programmes in Gaza, ensuring efficient and timely execution of activities by partners. This includes maintaining project follow-up systems, compiling data, and preparing draft reports, briefings, and success stories. The role involves directly monitoring partner organizations and consultants, providing advice to optimize resource use and strengthen coordination. The analyst will review partner reports, facilitate joint discussions among civil society organizations, and offer support as requested by the supervisor. Additionally, the position will assist in scaling up UN Women's rule of law and access to justice initiatives by facilitating meetings, collecting data, and developing progress analyses. The role also encompasses programme operations and administrative support, such as coordinating meetings and events, assisting with work plans and budget monitoring, supporting audit missions, processing requisitions, drafting correspondence, maintaining records, and supporting communication efforts. The incumbent will also attend coordination meetings and report on outcomes.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of professional experience is required, specifically in gender justice, women's access to justice, and the elimination of violence against women (EVAW) in conflict-affected settings. Experience working with civil society organizations, particularly women-led organizations focused on access to justice and protection, is essential. Demonstrated strong coordination, facilitation, and communication skills, along with excellent computer proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), are necessary. Experience in women's rights issues and knowledge of the Palestinian context are assets. Previous experience with international organizations is advantageous.
