This includes enhancing livelihoods, skills, and socio-economic opportunities through initiatives like the Youth Fellowship Programme, focusing on inclusion and practical experience for young leaders.
Job Purpose
This role supports the coordination and implementation of youth empowerment initiatives within the GRZ-UN Joint Programme on Youth in Zambia, led by UNDP. The Coordination Assistant will facilitate effective collaboration among government ministries, UN agencies, civil society, and the private sector. The position aims to strengthen stakeholder engagement, streamline programme activities, and support the development of young leaders through practical experience and skill enhancement. The role is crucial for ensuring the programme's success in creating an enabling environment for improved youth livelihoods, skills development, and expanded socio-economic opportunities, with a focus on inclusion.

The Coordination Assistant will support stakeholder engagement and partnership coordination, assist in the implementation of programme activities by tracking workplans and following up on actions, and support the organization of youth-related events. The role also involves providing logistical and administrative support for trainings, events, and fellowship placements, assisting with fellow onboarding and follow-up, and contributing to communication materials. Promoting gender equality, inclusion, and youth participation is integral, alongside performing other related duties as required.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required. However, one year of relevant experience in coordination or supporting youth programmes is desirable. Experience with the UN or international development organizations is an asset. Skills
