Job Purpose
The Creative Industries Business Summit (CIBS) 2026 aims to foster commercialization, attract investment, and build partnerships within Zambia's creative sector, positioning it as a driver of inclusive economic growth and youth employment. The summit, themed “Commercialising Creative Industries for Youth Employment Through Digital Innovation,” will focus on digital transformation, highlighting opportunities in AI, NFTs, and gaming. Volunteers are crucial for the successful preparation and execution of the summit, including pre-event, during-event, and post-event activities. Their contribution will ensure the smooth running of logistics, programme support, exhibition management, communications, networking, and administrative tasks, ultimately equipping creatives with the skills and access needed to thrive in the digital economy.
Responsibilities
Volunteers will provide comprehensive support for the Creative Industries Business Summit (CIBS) 2026. Key responsibilities include assisting with venue setup, delegate registration, and information dissemination. They will manage signage, seating arrangements, and audio-visual equipment, and coordinate transportation and accommodation for delegates, as well as assist with organizing side meetings. Programme support involves facilitating session logistics for panels, workshops, and keynote speeches, taking notes, preparing summary reports, distributing materials, and liaising with speakers. For exhibitions and the Business Pavilion, volunteers will support exhibitors, guide attendees, and assist with networking sessions. Communications and media support includes managing social media updates, assisting press and content creators, and documenting sessions through photography and videography. Volunteers will also coordinate cultural excursions and assist with receptions and catering. Finally, administrative support entails maintaining organized filing systems and tracking attendance and feedback surveys.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required. However, one month of relevant experience is desirable. Prior volunteering in events, conferences, or the creative sectors is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite and social media savviness are beneficial, particularly for communications roles. Multilingual skills are welcome but not essential. Strong organizational and teamwork abilities are expected.
