Job Purpose
This role supports the 'Building Africa' live show by producing engaging social media content to amplify its reach and impact. The volunteer will create pre-show promotional materials and post-show recaps, including graphics and written content, to maintain audience engagement between episodes and grow the Foundation's online presence. The objective is to effectively communicate the Foundation's mission and highlight the achievements of African entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of the African innovation ecosystem. The role involves translating episode highlights into compelling narratives and visuals for various social media platforms.
Responsibilities
Support the 'Building Africa' live show by producing social media content, divided into pre-show and post-show tasks. Create weekly advertising graphics for upcoming shows (72 hours in advance) and completed shows (24-48 hours after broadcast), formatted for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and Facebook. Design three pull-quote graphics per show featuring compelling guest quotes (30 words or fewer). Write marketing pre-show captions (100-150 words) and post-show recap posts (100-150 words) summarizing key points and including a call to action for replays. For writers, also produce a 500-700 word blog post or newsletter article 72 hours after each show, structured with an introduction, key insights, and a reflection. Additionally, select and format three compelling quotes as text blocks for graphic use.
Work Experience
Experience creating content for professional social media platforms like LinkedIn is required. Familiarity with various social media content formats, including short-form copy, captions, and pull quotes, is essential. An interest in African entrepreneurship, innovation, or the startup ecosystem is also desirable.
