Job Purpose
This role supports the "Building Africa" live show and upcoming "Financing Africa" and "Innovating Africa" series by producing post-show video and written content. The online volunteer will amplify the foundation's digital assets and executive presence by creating and scheduling content derived from live broadcasts. The objective is to extend the reach of these conversations to a wider audience, contributing to the foundation's mission of fostering African innovation and entrepreneurship. This involves hands-on technical asset creation and scheduling under the supervision of the Chief Innovation Officer.
Responsibilities
Produce and publish 12 weekly post-show content packages for three live shows: "Building Africa," "Innovating Africa," and "Financing Africa." This includes creating 5 short-form captioned video teasers per show using AI tools and uploading full YouTube replays. Deliver 6 enrolled founder spotlight video feature posts weekly for LinkedIn and Instagram. Maintain a weekly performance hook log and submit two streamlined monthly channel reports detailing follower growth, engagement rates, and inbound query conversions against baseline targets. All content packages must be delivered within 48 hours of each broadcast.
Work Experience
Experience in content writing, journalism, communications, or a related field is required. Demonstrated ability to produce clean, publication-ready copy is essential. Experience with AI tools for video editing and a familiarity with social media platforms are beneficial. The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting is crucial.
Skills
Strong English writing and editing skills are essential. Proficiency in content creation, journalism, and communications is required. Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and AI-supported video editing tools is necessary.
