Job Purpose

This assignment aims to support the FAO Kazakhstan communications team in enhancing its social media outreach through X/Twitter and Facebook. The volunteer will contribute to creating and implementing effective social media campaigns to amplify FAO's message, foster community engagement, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The role involves drafting, designing, and publishing content, producing social media posts, and creating visual materials. Additionally, the volunteer will provide high-quality translations from English and Russian into Kazakh, and assist with website content migration, review, formatting, and quality assurance. This experience will strengthen communication skills and offer networking opportunities within the communications team.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will support the FAO Kazakhstan communications team by managing social media updates and developing impactful campaigns for Twitter and Facebook. Key duties include drafting, designing, and publishing social media content, producing engaging posts, and creating visual materials. The role also involves providing high-quality translations of documents, web content, and communication materials from English and Russian into Kazakh. Furthermore, the volunteer will assist in migrating website content to a new platform, including content review, formatting, and quality assurance. Proofreading and quality control of translated materials to ensure compliance with organizational standards are also required. Collaboration with the communications team is essential for developing outreach campaigns, with availability for calls via WhatsApp/Zoom/Microsoft Teams expected.

Work Experience

Previous experience in social media communication and writing/editing skills is required. The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage deliverables remotely is essential. Experience in translation and website content management is also beneficial.
