Graphic Design Support -Motion Graphics for UNDP Onboarding (UNV Segment)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme promotes volunteerism for peace and development worldwide. UNV advocates for volunteerism, encourages its integration into development programming, and mobilizes volunteers. In Malawi, UNDP is enhancing its People for 2030 Strategy by improving the onboarding experience for new personnel through a seamless online platform. UNV, as a UNDP agency, will provide essential information about its programming for this new platform.
Job Purpose
This role supports UNDP Malawi's initiative to create a seamless online onboarding website for newly recruited personnel, aligning with the People for 2030 Strategy. The volunteer will develop engaging motion graphics to present crucial information about UNV programming. This includes creating introductory videos for both international and national UN Volunteers, covering topics such as the Malawian context, performance management, living conditions, security, and administrative processes. The aim is to enhance the onboarding experience, foster a positive culture, and ensure volunteers are well-informed and prepared for their assignments.
Responsibilities
Develop motion graphics and animated videos for the UNDP Malawi online onboarding platform. Create introductory videos for international UN Volunteers, covering the Malawian context, performance management, living conditions, security briefings, housing options, the 'buddy' system, visa and work permit processes, home leave, and UNV e-Campus usage. Develop introductory videos for national UN Volunteers, focusing on security briefings, the 'buddy' system, performance management, and UNV e-Campus usage. Transform complex information into clear, visually appealing, and engaging motion graphics. Ensure all content adheres to design principles, including layout, branding, and typography. Collaborate with the Field Unit, respond to feedback, and meet deadlines.
Work Experience
Proven experience in creating motion graphics or animated videos. Proficiency in motion graphics and video editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Canva. Experience in designing content for training, orientation, or awareness campaigns is desirable. Ability to transform complex information into clear, engaging visuals.
Skills
Motion graphics and video editing proficiency (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Canva). Strong visual storytelling skills. Ability to apply design principles (layout, branding, typography). Capacity to transform complex information into clear, engaging visuals. Cultural sensitivity. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond to feedback. Working knowledge of English.
