Job Purpose
The incumbent will provide comprehensive support in digital communications, web management, and internal information dissemination for the Health Policy and Systems Division (HRP/LHR). This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with WHO standards and enhancing the visibility of departmental outputs. The position involves developing and maintaining web content, managing social media and newsletters, supporting internal communications, and monitoring digital platforms. The goal is to ensure effective and consistent communication strategies that align with WHO's objectives and reach target audiences.
Responsibilities
The Digital and Web Designer will manage digital content by developing, updating, and maintaining web pages, ensuring content is current, mobile-optimized, and user-friendly. They will propose website improvements and coordinate with the WHO web team. Support will be provided for social media and newsletter dissemination, including scheduling posts, preparing submissions, and analyzing platform performance. Internal communication tasks include updating SharePoint sites, managing the photo library, preparing staff updates, and performing basic graphic design. The role also involves monitoring communication channels, processing inquiries, and editing technical documents for compliance. Coordination with internal WHO teams and external partners, along with briefing staff on digital communication procedures, will be essential.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required in areas like information systems analysis, programming, systems administration, software development, or technical writing. Desirable experience includes working with Sitefinity, user interface/user experience design, content management systems, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop). Experience within WHO or another UN agency is an asset.
