Job Purpose
This Online Volunteer assignment aims to support WHO Oman's ongoing public health and development initiatives by contributing to communication, editorial, and digital knowledge management. The volunteer will enhance the clarity, accessibility, and outreach of WHO Oman's work by reviewing, editing, and developing technical and communication materials. Key contributions include strengthening digital communication products and maintaining online information resources. The role involves drafting content, updating web materials, and organizing knowledge resources, ultimately bolstering WHO Oman's visibility and engagement efforts within the public health sector.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and writing WHO Country Office (WCO) publications, including digital, web, and social media content. This includes researching WCO history and past health sector contributions, and documenting current and past Omani health sector achievements and initiatives. The volunteer will also contribute to WCO web content, edit social media posts for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X, and communicate on WCO-supported events. Additionally, the role involves co-creating communication and media materials and campaigns. Expected outputs include contributions to annual reports, research papers on past activities, and documentation related to public health initiatives.
Work Experience
Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills are required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce polished professional content are essential. Familiarity with digital communication platforms, web content, or content development tools is an asset. Previous editorial, research, or communications experience is desirable.
