Job Purpose

This assignment supports the ongoing security risk management process to facilitate the delivery of UNDP programmes in North and Central America. The primary goal is to produce comprehensive daily reports on geopolitical, security, and safety developments by monitoring open-media sources. This role is crucial for informing security assessments and ensuring operational continuity. The online nature of the assignment allows for flexible remote work, with an expectation to commence as soon as possible after selection.

Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will support the UNDP Regional Security Advisor's Office in Panama by monitoring open-media sources in North and Central America, specifically focusing on Central America and Mexico. Key duties include producing daily media monitoring reports in English covering significant geopolitical events, security incidents, and safety-related news, submitted by 12 PM GMT-5, Monday to Friday. The volunteer will also utilize local open-media sources in local languages, ensuring information accuracy and reliability. Additionally, participation in weekly online feedback sessions with the supervisor is required to discuss progress and receive guidance. The role demands independent work, adherence to deadlines, and effective synthesis of information.
