Job Purpose
The Communication Unit of IOM Mexico requires remote support to enhance its digital presence and communication efforts. The volunteer will contribute to promoting orderly, safe, regular, and humane migration management by strengthening social media monitoring, organizing digital performance data, and updating web content. This role involves tracking social media posts, proposing engaging content for various platforms and campaigns, and ensuring timely updates to the IOM Mexico website. The objective is to improve the visibility and impact of IOM's communication initiatives and support internal reporting and donor accountability.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for collecting social media post records for IOM Mexico (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) from January to August 2026 using an online platform for project tracking and accountability. They will propose social media posts for regular features like #JuevesDeLectura, #HistoriaDeDomingo, and content related to the International Year of Volunteers 2026 to the Community Manager. Additionally, the volunteer will propose weekly posts highlighting migrant and returnee shelters in Mexico to raise awareness of their importance. A performance report for the "Las Palabras Importan" campaign will be generated for the UN Network on Migration. Finally, the volunteer will review, organize, and update 10 content pieces on the IOM Mexico website, adhering to communication unit guidelines and using the Drupal platform.
Work Experience
Interest in digital communication, social media, basic metrics analysis, and development communication. Ability to record information accurately and consistently. Basic knowledge of social media platforms and online office tools. Desirable: previous experience with web content management systems, particularly Drupal. Attention to detail, responsibility, clear communication, and ability to work remotely with a results-oriented approach are essential.
