Job Purpose
This role supports the development, coordination, and launch of ACT Alliance’s global newsletter on migration and displacement. The newsletter will function as a vital communication and knowledge-sharing platform, connecting ACT Alliance members, faith-based organizations, civil society, and partners worldwide. The initiative aims to enhance information exchange, increase the visibility of members' work, strengthen advocacy coordination, and foster collective engagement across the global network. Volunteers will contribute to establishing the newsletter's structure, content workflows, communication strategy, and technical setup.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of ACT Alliance’s Global Programme on Migration and Displacement, UN Online Volunteers will assist in the design and setup of the newsletter structure and distribution system. This includes identifying and recommending suitable newsletter platforms or integrations with the ACT Members Portal. Volunteers will draft, edit, and proofread content in English, Spanish, and French, and coordinate contributions from global ACT members and partners. Responsibilities also involve developing editorial calendars and communication workflows, creating visual communication materials, and assisting with audience engagement strategies and dissemination planning. Support will be provided for testing, formatting, launch preparations, and establishing sustainable processes for future editions.
Work Experience
Experience or interest is sought in areas such as communications, journalism, digital engagement, newsletter development, content writing/editing, graphic design, knowledge management, digital platforms, and migration/humanitarian issues. Familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Figma is beneficial. Experience in multicultural, remote teamwork is also valued.
Skills
Key skills include content writing, editing, and proofreading in English (Spanish/French desirable). Proficiency in digital engagement, newsletter development, and email communication platforms is needed. Graphic design and visual communication abilities are advantageous. Strong organizational skills for knowledge management and information organization are important. Experience with digital platforms and content management systems is a plus. The ability to coordinate and work effectively in multicultural, remote environments is essential.
