In Bolivia, UNV supports the National Committee for the International Year of Volunteers (IYV) 2026, an initiative led by the First Lady's office in coordination with UNDP and UNV. This committee comprises civil society, public sector, private sector, and academic actors, aiming to coordinate and promote volunteerism and sustainable development activities.
Job Purpose
This role supports the coordination and follow-up of activities for the National Committee of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV) 2026 in Bolivia. The assignment aims to strengthen inter-institutional articulation, organize meetings, and systematize strategic information. The volunteer will contribute to the successful implementation of the IYV 2026 agenda, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders including civil society, academia, the private sector, and public entities. This position is crucial for ensuring effective communication and coordination of initiatives related to volunteerism and sustainable development.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteers will provide support in various areas, distributed among selected individuals. Key responsibilities include coordinating and following up on the National Committee's activities, assisting in the organization and coordination of meetings, and tracking agreements and committee actions. Volunteers will also be responsible for drafting brief minutes and reports, facilitating inter-institutional articulation and communication, and identifying national volunteerism actors and best practices. Additional duties involve creating and consolidating databases, coordinating with civil society, academia, private sector, and public entities, and supporting the dissemination of information and calls for participation. Volunteers will also help draft institutional messages and communications, systematize activities, organize databases and timelines, and support the planning of commemorative events.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong organizational and coordination skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, and the capacity to follow up on multiple tasks. Desirable experience encompasses project management, volunteerism, youth engagement, or international cooperation. The ability to work with diverse actors and multidisciplinary teams, along with proficiency in virtual coordination and communication tools, is also valued.
