Job Purpose

The assignment focuses on strategic social media engagement to enhance outreach and impact, contributing to the UN Communications Group's broader communication goals within Malawi. The ultimate aim is to effectively communicate the UN's mission and encourage participation in volunteerism.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for creating engaging social media content, including messages, campaign materials, graphics, and short videos, all aligned with promoting volunteerism. This includes developing a monthly content plan and coordinating with other content creators. The role also involves assessing the impact of the content strategy through regular analysis of social media analytics, focusing on engagement levels, reach, and audience interactions. Insights gained will be used to refine the strategy and enhance the online presence. Expected outcomes include a finalized social media plan, a detailed content plan, generated content, and weekly analytics reports.
Work Experience
Experience in developing content for social media, including writing posts and creating graphics, is required. Familiarity with social media design software and knowledge of social media analysis are also necessary. Experience in developing social media campaigns in a professional setting is considered an asset.
Skills
Required skills include proficiency in content creation for social media, ability to write and draft social media posts in English, familiarity with social media design software, and knowledge of social media analysis. Working knowledge of written and spoken English is essential. The ability to develop social media campaigns is an asset.
