Job Purpose
This assignment seeks Online Volunteers to support the design, development, adaptation, and contextualization of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials focused on preventing child marriage in Mozambique. The work will specifically target high-risk and conflict-affected provinces, including Cabo Delgado. The goal is to create culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, and gender-responsive materials that align with national frameworks for child protection, GBV prevention, and adolescent empowerment, ultimately contributing to the reduction of child marriage rates and its associated risks.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteers will conduct a desk review of existing child marriage prevention materials, strategies, and communication approaches in Mozambique. They will support the development of key prevention messages aligned with national child protection, GBV, and adolescent empowerment frameworks. Responsibilities include developing and adapting child-friendly IEC materials such as storybooks, posters, community awareness materials, and radio messaging scripts. Volunteers must ensure materials are culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, gender-responsive, and conflict-sensitive. They will also support the translation and contextualization of materials into relevant local languages and incorporate safeguarding, confidentiality, and protection principles into all communication outputs.
Work Experience
Candidates should possess strong research and graphic design skills. Experience in app development is also noted. Background knowledge and practical experience in Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and the prevention and response to child marriage are desirable.
