Graphic Design Support to contextualize and develop IEC Materials for EORE
Organizational Context

In Mozambique, the organization is addressing the critical threat of explosive ordnance, including IEDs, ERW, and UXO, which disproportionately harm children. Job Purpose
This role supports UNICEF's initiative to mitigate the risks posed by explosive ordnance to children and caregivers in Mozambique. The assignment focuses on developing and contextualizing child-friendly Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) materials, including those related to IEDs. The goal is to promote safe behaviors in high-risk and returning communities, enhance coordination among humanitarian actors, and strengthen data-driven approaches. The contribution is vital for reducing exposure, preventing casualties, and improving the overall safety and resilience of vulnerable populations affected by conflict and explosive hazards.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the contextualization and development of Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) related Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for Mozambique. Key duties include adapting existing UNICEF tools for conflict-affected areas, designing context-appropriate, child-friendly, and gender-sensitive EORE materials, and assisting in their dissemination. The volunteer will also support training for Child Protection Work Stream (CPWS) members and frontline workers on EORE delivery and safe practices. Additionally, responsibilities involve producing documents in English and Portuguese and collaborating with CPWS members to integrate relevant local languages, such as Makonde, Makuwa/Makhuwa, and Swahili.
Work Experience
Candidates should possess strong research and graphic design skills, with experience in app development being advantageous. Background knowledge and practical working experience in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) are required. Experience in developing IEC materials for conflict-affected regions is beneficial.
Skills
