Promotion of Sustainable Development in Donga Mantung Association (PROSDOMA) was recognized by Cameroon in 2006 and achieved UN ECOSOC Consultative Status in 2024. Registered in Canada, PROSDOMA supports newcomers with integration, legal aid, and essential services. The organization is expanding its volunteer network across Africa and Canada to support environmental protection, humanitarian action, community development, peacebuilding, and newcomer integration initiatives.
Job Purpose
This role aims to strengthen PROSDOMA's volunteer recruitment process by engaging five dedicated online volunteers. These volunteers will be instrumental in screening and interviewing prospective candidates to ensure alignment with organizational standards and values. Additionally, they will contribute to developing educational social media content that raises awareness and promotes community engagement. The ultimate goal is to support PROSDOMA's mission and vision, fostering sustainable development and effective volunteer integration across its diverse initiatives in Africa and Canada.
Responsibilities
Support PROSDOMA in the end-to-end recruitment of volunteers, including screening applications and conducting interviews to ensure candidates meet organizational standards, values, and program requirements. Identify and select qualified individuals who align with PROSDOMA's mission areas: environmental protection, community empowerment, humanitarian assistance, peacebuilding, and agriculture. Contribute to the design and creation of educational and awareness materials for PROSDOMA's social media platforms, focusing on promoting sustainable agriculture, climate action, reforestation, water conservation, youth empowerment, and social inclusion. Uphold professionalism, teamwork, strong communication, respect for diversity, confidentiality, and ethical volunteer recruitment practices in line with UNV principles.
Work Experience
Experience in volunteer recruitment and interviewing is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational and time management abilities, professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, teamwork, and basic digital communication/social media skills are essential. A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and humanitarian values is also necessary.
