Organizational Context

Promotion of Sustainable Development in Donga Mantung Association (PROSDOMA) is a Canadian-registered organization focused on sustainable development, climate change, and migration assistance. Officially recognized in Cameroon and holding UN Economic and Social Council consultative status, PROSDOMA supports newcomers in Alberta with integration, legal aid, counseling, and job search assistance. The organization also connects individuals to essential resources and promotes social inclusion, utilizing social media to raise awareness of its services.

Job Purpose

This role supports PROSDOMA's social media outreach by creating educational materials and graphics. The volunteer will research articles aligned with PROSDOMA's objectives, including sustainable agriculture, climate change mitigation, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable migration policies. The goal is to produce engaging content that informs the target audience about these critical issues. The materials will be disseminated across platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, contributing to the organization's mission of raising awareness and providing valuable information to newcomers and the wider community.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will conduct research on articles related to PROSDOMA's objectives, such as biodiversity conservation, sustainable food production, climate change, sustainable migration policies, and boosting agriculture. They will design five graphics weekly to visually represent the researched articles. Additionally, the volunteer will write concise summaries of the researched articles and graphic designs for social media posts. All created graphics and written content will be submitted for publication on PROSDOMA's social media accounts, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, to educate the audience.

Work Experience

Experience in research work is required. Familiarity with sustainable agriculture, climate change, sustainable migration policies, biodiversity conservation, and food production is desirable. The ability to design graphics and write articles for educational purposes is essential for this role.

Skills

Research skills, graphic design capabilities, and strong writing skills for social media content are required. Familiarity with topics such as sustainable agriculture, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and migration policies is beneficial. The ability to create educational materials for online platforms is key.
