Organizational Context
Promotion of Sustainable Development in Donga Mantung Association (PROSDOMA) is a Canadian-registered organization focused on sustainable development, climate change, and migration assistance. Officially recognized in Cameroon in 2006 and holding UN Economic and Social Council consultative status since 2024, PROSDOMA supports newcomers in Alberta with integration, legal aid, and essential services. The organization aims to strengthen resource mobilization to fund its work in environmental protection, humanitarian action, and advocacy.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to bolster PROSDOMA's resource mobilization capabilities by identifying new funding opportunities and developing compelling project proposals. The volunteer will contribute to the organization's mission by researching and drafting proposals aligned with its focus areas, including biodiversity conservation, climate change, humanitarian action, and migration support. The ultimate goal is to secure funding that enables PROSDOMA to expand its impactful programming and address growing environmental and social challenges, thereby fostering sustainable development and supporting vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will independently research and identify one relevant funding opportunity aligned with PROSDOMA’s focus areas, such as biodiversity conservation, climate change, reforestation, humanitarian action, plastic pollution advocacy, and migration support. Based on the identified opportunity, the volunteer will draft a complete project or grant proposal, adhering strictly to donor guidelines. This involves strong analytical and conceptual writing skills to articulate the project's objectives, activities, and expected outcomes. The drafted proposal will be submitted to PROSDOMA's team for review and subsequent official submission by the organization, requiring excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
Work Experience
Proven experience in project or grant proposal writing is required. Experience in researching and identifying relevant funding opportunities is also necessary. A background in environmental, humanitarian, or development sectors is desirable. The ability to work independently and produce high-quality drafts is essential.

Key skills include proven project/grant proposal writing, research and identification of funding opportunities, strong analytical and conceptual writing, knowledge of environmental/humanitarian/development sectors, ability to follow donor guidelines and deadlines, excellent written communication, attention to detail, and the capacity for independent work. Fluency in English is desirable.
