Job Purpose
This role supports the SDG Gender Snapshot 2026 Report by conducting quantitative data analysis from a gender perspective. The Online Volunteer will assist the Statistics Specialist in creating a database for a project focused on inequalities between women and girls. The assignment involves data processing and analysis to identify trends and patterns related to SDG progress for women and girls, contributing to the annual report released in time for the UN General Assembly. The expected contribution is to provide data-driven insights for policy and program development.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for consolidating indicators and datasets related to gender and the SDGs. This includes conducting quantitative data analysis to identify relevant trends, patterns, and key findings on the status and progress of SDGs from a gender perspective. The volunteer will also develop background notes, visualizations, and narrative interpretations of findings based on literature review, as per the agreed reporting plan. The volunteer will be guided on data sources for dataset creation and will provide regular progress updates through calls or email exchanges.
Work Experience
Candidates require advanced computer skills and proficiency in analytical software such as SPSS or STATA. Strong analytical and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to present data concisely. Experience in data analysis and reporting is expected.
