UNICEF operates in 190 countries, dedicated to protecting children's rights and improving their lives for over 70 years. In Lebanon, the Partnerships Section manages over 30 public and private donors, a critical function given the office's reliance on funding. The section faces challenges due to funding reductions and the ongoing conflict, necessitating intensified efforts to diversify donors and engage private entities while maintaining relationships with existing public donors and responding to emergency needs.
Job Purpose
The Partnerships Officer will support the UNICEF Lebanon Partnerships Section in managing donor relations, proposal development, and reporting. This role is crucial for diversifying the donor base and ensuring consistent engagement with public and private donors amidst funding challenges and the complex operating environment in Lebanon. The incumbent will contribute to maintaining a healthy funding pipeline by assisting in the preparation of proposals, managing contributions, and ensuring timely, high-quality donor reports. The position also involves coordinating donor visits and preparing briefing materials, directly supporting the Country Office Representative and Deputy Representative in achieving strategic objectives and work plan targets.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Officer will be responsible for drafting, editing, and formatting donor reports and proposals, ensuring alignment with UNICEF standards and donor requirements. This includes collecting and verifying programmatic inputs from various sections and field offices. The role involves maintaining dialogue with existing National Committees and exploring engagement with new ones. The officer will track donor reporting deadlines and requirements using internal systems. Additionally, the position requires coordinating donor field visits and events, preparing detailed itineraries and logistics, and conducting pre-visits to ensure strategic alignment. The officer will also maintain accurate records of donor correspondence and documentation, track donor feedback, and follow up on action points to strengthen donor engagement.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in donor relations, reporting, communications, and/or event coordination is required. Experience with donor-funded projects in an emergency context is considered an asset. Proficiency in MS Office and collaboration tools, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines are essential. Flexibility for travel is also necessary.
