Job Purpose
The Online Volunteers will significantly contribute to FAO's International Day of Potato Campaign by creating compelling promotional materials. These materials will be used in supermarkets and for public awareness activities, aiming to increase knowledge about potatoes and sustainable food systems. The volunteers' visually engaging designs will enhance FAO's communication and outreach efforts, fostering public engagement and awareness on critical issues of sustainable agriculture and food security. Their work will help produce high-quality visual assets within a tight timeframe, directly supporting the campaign's objectives.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Communications Specialist and in collaboration with the communications team, Online Volunteers will produce graphic design materials for the International Day of Potato Campaign. Key duties include collecting information on campaign specifics, designing digital cards, posters, and display materials for supermarkets and promotional areas. Volunteers will adapt provided content into visually appealing formats suitable for both digital use and print production, ensuring designs adhere to FAO's corporate branding guidelines. They will create draft designs, incorporate feedback from the communications team, and prepare final files for distribution, all while working efficiently under a tight deadline.
Work Experience
Proven experience in designing posters, cards, social media graphics, or print materials is required. Candidates should demonstrate a good sense of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or equivalent platforms is essential. Responsiveness and reliability under short deadlines are also key.
Skills
Strong visual design skills, proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or equivalent), understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy, ability to adhere to branding guidelines, responsiveness, and reliability under tight deadlines. Working knowledge of Chinese and basic English are also mentioned.
