Job Purpose
The Senior Data Management Assistant plays a critical role in optimizing the logistics and delivery of medicines within Honduras's public health projects. This position focuses on transforming static administrative records into dynamic geographic intelligence. The core function involves converting complex data into strategic visual information, enabling real-time monitoring and high-level reporting. By utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the assistant will enhance the traceability of medicines from collection centers to end beneficiaries, identify coverage gaps, and visualize drug availability across the territory. This role is crucial for improving the supply chain and ensuring timely access to essential medical supplies, supporting decision-making processes and quality control.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Management Assistant is responsible for collecting and entering data from various sources into information systems. This includes cleaning and validating data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness by removing duplicates and correcting errors. A key duty involves managing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geocoding, converting addresses into geographic points, updating vector layers, and maintaining spatial databases linked to the medicine inventory. The role also entails organizing and storing technical files and databases, ensuring data integrity and backups. Furthermore, the assistant will create interactive dashboards, thematic maps, and charts for high-level decision-making and generate basic data analysis reports. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to ensure reliable and accessible information flows.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of relevant experience is required. However, 5 years of experience in data and information management are needed with a secondary education, or 1 year of experience with a university degree. Experience in Gsuite administration, basic geodesy (understanding coordinate systems like WGS84 and file formats), and intermediate Google Sheets proficiency (database cross-referencing, advanced filters) are also required. Relevant certifications in Geographic Information Systems are desirable.
