Organizational Context

Job Purpose
This role supports the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in The Gambia by enhancing the quality, timeliness, and coherence of its communications outputs. As programme delivery and visibility increase, there is a critical need for professional graphic design to ensure clarity, accessibility, and adherence to corporate branding standards across a wide range of materials. The graphic designer will contribute to effectively showcasing UNDP's work and impact across all programme areas, strengthening stakeholder engagement through compelling visual storytelling and ensuring all communication products align with UNDP's mission and the Gambian National Development Plan.
Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing visually engaging materials for both digital and print platforms, including reports, briefs, infographics, social media content, and visibility assets. A key duty is ensuring the consistent application of UNDP's corporate branding guidelines across all outputs and creating templates and visual identities for campaigns, publications, and events. The role involves designing communication assets such as banners, flyers, quote cards, posters, and presentation materials, as well as producing multimedia-ready visuals to enhance storytelling. The designer will also provide design support to programme and operations teams to improve the presentation of results and data, ensuring all outputs meet high standards of quality, accessibility, and usability, and delivering editable source files for future use.
Work Experience
Previous experience in digital communication, social media management, or online campaigns is desirable. Experience with UN branding and messaging is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar is required. Excellent writing and storytelling skills are essential. Strong organizational and collaboration skills are also necessary. Familiarity with UN branding and messaging is advantageous.
