Job Purpose
The UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office is enhancing its knowledge management and innovation-sharing capabilities by updating its Innovation Repository. This repository documents innovative practices, pilot projects, partnerships, and digital solutions from Country Offices across the region. The assignment aims to make this innovation knowledge more accessible to UNFPA staff, facilitate cross-country learning and replication of best practices, streamline information collection for external visibility, and contribute to institutional knowledge management. The volunteer's contribution will directly support regional collaboration, innovation learning, and highlight impactful initiatives aligned with UNFPA's mandate.
Responsibilities
The online volunteer will support the updating and organization of the UNFPA Asia-Pacific Innovation Repository, focusing on innovation activities implemented by Country Offices between 2022-2024. Key duties include organizing, cleaning, and updating repository entries using information from Country Offices and existing records. The volunteer will review submissions for completeness and consistency, consolidate relevant information, identify missing data, and categorize innovation initiatives. Additionally, the volunteer will assist in preparing concise summaries or highlights for knowledge-sharing purposes. Coordination will be virtual with the Programme Specialist via email and online meetings, with regular progress updates expected. Collaboration with other online volunteers may also be required.
Work Experience
Experience in research, knowledge management, or information organization is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and online collaboration tools is necessary. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is essential. Previous experience with UN agencies, NGOs, research projects, innovation initiatives, or knowledge platforms is considered an asset.
