Job Purpose
This traineeship aims to foster active contribution towards Agenda 2063, Africa's long-term development blueprint. It supports a shift from mere awareness to structured execution and stewardship by engaging Online Volunteers in a 7-week program. Participants will define their role in shaping Africa's future, identify sustaining values and routines, and develop practical action pathways. The initiative seeks to strengthen a continental network committed to long-term transformation and the delivery of Agenda 2063 aspirations. Ultimately, participants will produce a "Letter from the Future" reflecting on Africa's realized progress and their contribution.
Responsibilities
Support the "Agenda 2063 in Power Spaces" traineeship, engaging 140 Online Volunteers in a 7-week program focused on moving participants from awareness to structured contribution, execution, and stewardship for Africa's development. Facilitate a learning and delivery journey where participants reflect on their role in shaping Africa's future towards 2063, identify values and routines for sustained contribution, and position themselves as active builders. Provide relevant background materials, facilitation resources, communication guidance, and strategic context. Guide participants in producing a "Letter from the Future" dated 2063, reflecting on achieved progress and their role. The traineeship covers topics such as lessons learned, the gap to 2063, Agenda 2063 as a multi-market platform, values, routines, and future reflections.
Work Experience
While no advanced technical qualifications are required, applicants should demonstrate interest, experience, or potential in areas such as Africa's development, Agenda 2063, youth engagement, leadership, innovation, or community transformation. Experience or interest in community engagement, leadership, research, advocacy, communications, civil society, volunteer engagement, or creative industries is advantageous.
Skills
Ability to participate actively in structured online learning and collaborative engagement. Capacity for critical reflection and thoughtful contribution to discussions and activities. Skill in working collaboratively within diverse and multicultural teams. Commitment to completing weekly activities and consistent participation throughout the 7-week traineeship. Fluency in English is required.
