Financial Dashboard Specialist

Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP's commitment to enhancing financial transparency, efficiency, and evidence-based decision-making by developing the Pacific Integrated Financial Dashboard (P-IFD). The P-IFD will consolidate financial data from various sources into a user-friendly, interactive platform, providing real-time insights for improved financial oversight and programme performance visibility across the Pacific Office. The specialist will transform disparate data into decision-ready information, enabling dynamic reporting and visualization of financial trends to support timely interventions and strategic adjustments by programme teams and senior management.
Responsibilities
The Financial Dashboard Specialist will be responsible for data harmonization, including assessing reporting needs, identifying key financial indicators, and integrating data from corporate platforms and manual repositories. This involves defining the 'source of truth' for indicators, developing methodologies for data aggregation across diverse systems, and establishing data security protocols and user access levels. The role also entails engineering and designing the P-IFD, structuring it for intuitive data visualization, trend analysis, and exception monitoring. This includes incorporating mapping and segmentation functionalities for financial data across various dimensions (geographic, programme clusters, sub-thematic areas, donors, financial flows, performance indicators) and designing interactive visualization tools. Additionally, the specialist will integrate automated validation rules, liaise with RBM specialists for a results tracking module, and develop a data backup and cybersecurity framework. Finally, the role involves pilot testing, user acceptance testing, ensuring reconciliation with corporate reporting platforms, developing user manuals and training materials, and conducting knowledge transfer.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in developing results and financial information systems and dashboards is required. Experience with UN or international development organizations is desirable. Strong technical knowledge of Results-Based Management (RBM) and financial management concepts, tools, and practices, as well as dashboard design and development, is essential. Proficiency in tools like Power BI or Tableau is necessary. Familiarity with Generative AI is an asset.
